Akshay Murthy
Associate Scientist, Fermilab; Materials Focus Area Lead Team Member, SQMS
Akshay Murthy is an associate scientist at Fermilab. As part of the SQMS Center, he works in the area of materials characterization and fabrication of superconducting qubits. This involves the use of electron microscopy and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry to identify potential sources of quantum decoherence in these systems.
Akshay received his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from Northwestern University in 2020 and his B.S. in materials science and engineering in 2015 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
