Professor of Quantum Technologies, University of Glasgow

Martin Weides is Professor of Quantum Technologies with a research focus on superconducting quantum circuits and hybrid quantum systems. He brings deep expertise in the design, fabrication, and characterization of Josephson junctions and superconducting devices. As part of the SQMS collaboration, he contributes to the development and characterization of trilayer niobium-based Josephson junctions, supporting the center’s mission to advance coherence times and scalability in superconducting quantum systems.

He received his PhD in Physics from the University of Cologne (2006), followed by research positions at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, University of Mainz and the University of Glasgow, where he currently leads experimental efforts in superconducting quantum devices.
