Valentino Seferai
Research Associate, University of Glasgow
Dr Valentino Seferai is a Postdoctoral Research Associate within the Critical Technologies Accelerator (CTA) programme, working as a Test, Design, and Fabrication Engineer focused on scaling quantum technologies. His expertise spans the design, fabrication, and characterisation of niobium and tantalum, as well as their nitrides, used as material platforms for the ground planes of superconducting quantum circuits.
His PhD research centred on overlap Josephson junctions fabricated via the subtractive method, and he is currently leading efforts to develop a scalable and reproducible Nb trilayer junction process aimed at achieving high-coherence quantum circuits.
Dr Seferai completed his PhD in Engineering at the University of Glasgow in 2023, following an MEng in Engineering at the same institution in 2018. He also holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Patras, which provides a strong foundation in superconducting and quantum physics.
