Raphael Cervantes received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington where he focused on detecting axion dark matter. His thesis research was on developing a dielectrically-loaded RF cavity to search for axions with masses higher than what is capable from current searches. At SQMS, he is implementing QIS technologies, such as SRF cavities and quantum sensors, to search for wavelike dark matter such as axions and dark photons.
