Sam Benz leads the Superconductive Electronics Group of NIST that develops state-of-the-art DC, AC and RF superconducting quantum-based voltage sources, standard reference instrument systems and precisions measurement techniques, which NIST provides to U.S. industry and national and international measurement laboratories. The group also has research programs in superconducting high-speed computing, quantum computing and RF communications. He is a Fellow of NIST, the American Physical Society (APS) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
