Dr. Steve Adachi is the principal investigator from Lockheed Martin for SQMS. At the Lockheed Martin Space Advanced Technology Center, he leads the research program in quantum computing applications, including machine learning, optimization and materials simulation. He has worked at Lockheed Martin for 18 years, including 10 years in quantum computing research, preceded by 8 years on large satellite programs. Prior to Lockheed Martin, he spent 15 years in the telecommunications industry, including 10 years at AT&T Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies. He has a B.S. in mathematics from Harvey Mudd College and a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Brown University.
